I haven’t had a lot of time to write as much as I’d like to lately (I mean, I guess I am getting married this weekend…), but I still managed to sneak in a few movies recently, and if I don’t spit out some speedy reviews right now, I don’t think I’ll have another opportunity to do it until like two weeks from now, after our honeymoon.  So here are my sloppy, drastically under-thought reviews of Hail, Caesar!, Deadpool, and Zoolander 2!

Lazy Movie Review:: Kingsman: The Secret Service

Premise:  A teen (or was he 20 something? I don’t know) gets chosen to enter the British secret service because his dad was an ex-member.  Meanwhile, an evil billionaire is plotting something diabolical!  Uh oh!  And then it’s up to the spies and their youthful counterparts to stop him!  Yay! ( …I don’t know why I sounded so dismissive of the plot here, I actually liked the movie a lot.  I think I’m just tired)

Movie Review: Kick-Ass 2

Expectations weren’t exactly booming for the sequel to Kick-Ass.  For one thing, the first film barely made any money.  Nobody much cared for it, except for a cult(ish) fanbase of people like me.  I was as surprised as anyone when they announced that a sequel was in the works.  But I kept my expectations moderately low, not because of lack of talent going into the production, but basically because I’d read the sequel comic book, and it’s just not as good as the first one (though, it’s not bad).
